Writing is at the heart of the programme, but it is only one part of your practice. Each activity helps you notice, remember and use French in another way.
Discover words and expressions to build your vocabulary and bring fresh language into your own sentences.
Listen closely and write what you hear. Practise listening, spelling and the connection between spoken and written French.
Use a prompt to write a short text in French. Find your own way of expressing an idea, a memory or a scene, with personal feedback from Olivia.
Take your French into speech with an oral activity. Practise finding your words aloud and making the language your own.
Join a 45-minute conversation session to put your French into practice with others. An opportunity to speak, listen and reuse the words you have been working on.
7 pm French time · Online · Optional
I’m Olivia, a native French teacher, writer and the founder of La Petite Librairie française d’Oxford. I read your writing myself and respond to what you are trying to say.
My feedback highlights what already works, suggests more natural ways to express yourself and focuses on a few useful language points. Over time, we can notice recurring difficulties and the progress you are making.
The aim is to help you reuse corrections and new expressions in your next text — and in conversation.
You do not need to complete every activity every day. Choose what helps you, return when you have time and build a regular relationship with French without turning it into another list of obligations.
You can also use the library of 21 guided writing prompts, alongside the new weekly prompts, Listen & Write activities and short language lessons.
This programme is designed for learners who already have some French. If you would prefer individual lessons, explore French lessons with Olivia.
