Each lesson is structured around your level and goals. We use a short literary extract to work on comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and spoken or written expression. I provide the extract; you don’t need to buy a book or prepare beforehand.
Explore the text and your own ideas together, with time to try, ask questions and find a more natural expression.
Oxford lessons take place at La Petite Librairie, 9 Park End Street, Oxford, from 8 November 2026. Choose your time in the booking calendar below; I will send your arrival details before your lesson.

Individual French lessons · Oxford & online
One individual lesson · 60 minutes · £45. Choose a date and time, select your lesson format, then complete your details and payment.
Oxford: in-person lessons are available from 8 November 2026. Select “Oxford — in-person French lessons” from the available options. Lessons take place at La Petite Librairie, 9 Park End Street, Oxford. I will send your arrival details before your lesson.
Online: select “Online — French lessons”. I will send your joining link before we meet.
Inside a lesson
Listen and read. Notice a voice, a detail, an atmosphere or an idea.
React, compare, tell a story. Find something you want to say.
Keep a few expressions, a sentence pattern or a grammar point in context.
Use the language again, with focused feedback and time to try.
After our lesson, I send you a short personal note with the words, expressions and language points we explored. Depending on what you need, I may add a small writing invitation or a pronunciation activity. You have something specific to return to before we meet again.
Regular practice · in the Circle community
For intermediate and advanced learners who understand French and want to use it more naturally. Follow the programme on its own, or use it alongside individual lessons.
You can participate from anywhere. You don’t need to attend lessons or live in Oxford to join.

Workshops are shared creative sessions centred on a writing invitation and your text. There are separate Intermediate and Advanced & Francophone groups.
