About La Petite Librairie
La Petite Librairie française d’Oxford offers new and pre-owned French and Francophone books in Oxford. New titles can already be ordered.
Our selection includes novels, memoirs, essays and children’s books, together with French and Francophone authors in English, books about France, bilingual editions and resources for learning French.
Orders can be collected in Oxford by arrangement or delivered by post throughout the United Kingdom.
The bookshop currently begins online while we look for the right premises in Oxford. Its ambition is to become a welcoming literary place for French speakers, English speakers and learners: author events, readings, writing workshops, children’s storytelling and opportunities to practise French.
La Petite Librairie was founded by Olivia Quetier, a writer and French teacher based in Oxford.
A bookshop made to become a place
For now, you can browse and order online, collect locally in Oxford or choose UK delivery. When the right place is found, the bookshop will grow into a home for books, conversations and French culture.
